Live Oak Acres Levee

The Live Oak Acres Levee is located along the west embankment of the Ventura River in the unincorporated community of Live Oak Acres, approximately six miles downstream of Matilija Dam near the town of Oak View.

The levee is intended to protect rural residential properties in low-lying areas of the floodplain. The Live Oak Acres Levee currently does not meet Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requirements. As part of MDERP, upgrades are planned to bring the Live Oaks Acres levee system up to federal standards and to provide sufficient flood protection during and after dam removal.
