Casitas Springs Levee

The Casitas Springs Levee is located along the east embankment of the Ventura River near the unincorporated community of Casitas Springs, approximately nine miles downstream of Matilija Dam.

The mile-long levee system currently does not meet Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requirements. As part of MDERP, upgrades are planned to bring the levee system up to federal standards and to provide sufficient flood protection for the Casitas Springs community during and after dam removal.
