We are still working on a wholesale migration from the old website, which has served the Project well for more than a decade…but it was time for some updates and upgrades, so here we are at long last!

If you have any problems please head to the Contact page and let us know – we’ll do our best to attend to matters ASAP and hope you’ll return again very soon…

But before you leave, here are a few Notices and Highlights:

  • The comment period for Public Scoping for the preparation of a Subsequent Environmental Impact Report for the MDERP closed on October 14, 2020. A Draft SEIR is currently under development, with public release and community meetings anticipated in late Spring 2021. Please see the Environmental Compliance page for additional information.
  • A six-month Community Update on the MDERP will be presented by Watershed Protection and Project partners c/o the Ventura River Watershed Council on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 6:00 to 7:30pm. More in-depth Technical Updates will also be provided by Watershed Protection and the Project’s lead technical contractors that same afternoon (April 1, 2021) from 1:30 to 4:30pm. Both meetings will be held virtually due to Covid-19 precautions. Agendas, presentations and recordings from last year’s Community Updates (in February and October 2020) are available c/o the Watershed Council’s Past Meetings webpage.
  • A recent report on Job and Stimulus Benefits of Matilija Dam Removal highlights the local, regional and statewide economic benefits of the Project’s design and implementation investments. A two-page summary of the August 2020 full report is also available here.
