The Ventura County Watershed Protection District is a Special District within the Ventura County Public Works Agency. The Matilija Coalition is an alliance of community groups, businesses, and individuals committed to the environmental restoration of the Ventura River watershed and the removal of Matilija Dam. The Coalition works for the restoration of the bioregion to benefit the recovery of the federally-endangered southern California steelhead, and to restore the natural supply of sediment to the beaches of Ventura. http://matilija-coalition.org
